Town Hall Event – Vaccine Info

Dear Buckley Community,

We would like to invite you to join us Tuesday in learning more about COVID-19 vaccines and how getting yourself and your family members vaccinated may support a return to normalcy for our schools and communities here in northwest Michigan.

In collaboration with our local health departments, medical providers and intermediate school district – Northwest Education Services (formerly TBAISD) – we are hosting a webinar featuring area physicians and pediatricians at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 18.

Please consider joining us for this school community-focused event. You can choose how you’d like to learn more about vaccination:

  • Register through Zoom, which allows you to ask questions of the panelists (space is limited); or
  • Simply watch the discussion on Northwest Education Services’ Facebook page (livestream link will be posted shortly before the event begins).

With the recent approval of the Pfizer vaccine for 12- to 15-year-olds, we understand you may have some questions – especially if your child fits into that age group. The best way to discover the facts and determine whether vaccination is the right choice for you and your family is by learning from the experts.

This pandemic has caused several challenges for our educators, and we’ve tried to minimize the impact on our school communities. Still, high positive COVID-19 case numbers have led to school closures and cancelations of co-curricular activities throughout our state over the past year. Additionally, at-home learning for many students – whether due to positive COVID-19 tests or close-contact quarantine measures – places an extra burden on families. Vaccination can alleviate those concerns and others for students and their families, and help ease the feelings of uncertainty we have all surely experienced in the past year.

We hope you will consider joining us for this informational event.
