I am excited to be joining the Buckley family soon. While I will be in the school a few days in January, I am looking forward to being here full time on February 1. Everyone I have talked with tells me that Buckley Community Schools is in motion. Everyone is passionate about continuing forward and offering our students the best education in Northern Michigan. We offer many opportunities to help students achieve and reach their goals. We will work with everyone to provide students the tools and resources they need to be lifelong learners in a constantly changing and global economy. When we talk about everyone what do we mean? We mean parents and families, community members, the career center, the community college but most of all, we will work with our students to help them determine their best path. Our school will work with everyone who can help Buckley students succeed. We want to prepare our students today for the world they will enter tomorrow. My wife, Lori, teaches English at Alma High School; Amber is a freshman in college and Courtney is a junior at Central Montcalm High School. We are hoping that Lori can find a teaching job nearby and Courtney is looking forward to becoming a Buckley Bear next year. Our dogs are Bubba, Gibson, and Higginson; our cats are Dmitra and Granderson. They’re all looking forward to moving up north, too. The dogs love the water! I look forward to meeting you soon.
