H1N1 Influenza Information
Dear BCS Families,
In view of the recent H1N1 (swine) flu concern, please remember to use the usual guidelines to help prevent germs from spreading:
* Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, encourage others to do the same.
* Wash hands frequently to help prevent the spreading of germs, using soap and water or hand-sanitizer.
* As always, ill children should stay at home during their illness to avoid spreading infections to others.
* Avoid close contact with persons who are coughing or otherwise appear ill.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
* People experiencing severe symptoms including cough, fever, fatigue, sore throat, chills, headaches, body aches possibly along with diarrhea and vomiting, should contact their healthcare provider within 48 hours of symptom onset.
Michigan is receiving frequent updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and is working with local health departments to monitor the situation and immediately follow-up on any suspected cases. The CDC has created a Web page with information at www.cdc.gov/swineflu.
Please don't panic, but continue being concerned and informed. I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact
the school if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Steve Prissel
Superintendent
